Infant feeding and HIV

CATIE and OHTN Health HIVe logos

Presented in partnership with the OHTN Health HIVe

The Canadian consensus guidelines on infant feeding in the context of HIV have allowed for expanded options based on evidence-informed recommendations by multidisciplinary healthcare providers. While exclusive formula feeding is still recommended to completely eliminate the possibility of transmission to the infant, the guidelines also indicate that breastfeeding/chestfeeding is an option for some mothers and parents living with HIV. It is important to understand the science behind these recommendations so that people can make informed decisions that best suit their lives.

Join CATIE and the OHTN Health HIVe as we connect with leading experts to discuss the guideline and how service providers can further support new mothers and parents living with HIV.

This webinar explores health equity, as well as other implications and considerations when it comes to providing parents living with HIV with a range of options for infant feeding.
