This information session presents the safety and efficacy of long-acting PrEP, an HIV prevention method recently approved by Health Canada. Administered by a healthcare professional, this new injectable formulation offers an alternative for people facing challenges with daily oral PrEP adherence in pill form. 

Learn how the less frequent dosing can meet the needs of those disproportionately affected by HIV and ultimately prevent transmissions by increasing PrEP uptake. This session discusses the current availability of long-acting PrEP in Canada, while preparing participants to raise awareness and advocate for equitable access to this highly effective HIV prevention strategy.
