Understanding drivers of HIV in Ontario’s African, Caribbean and Black communities
This is the first webinar in a series on HIV prevention in Ontario’s African, Caribbean, and Black communities, presented in partnership with African and Caribbean Council on HIV/AIDS in Ontario (ACCHO), Black Coalition for AIDS Prevention (Black CAP) and Africans in Partnership Against AIDS (APAA).
This panel discussion with leading experts explores how social and structural factors, including anti-Black racism and HIV stigma create inequities in HIV outcomes for African, Caribbean and Black (ACB) communities in Ontario. Participants will also learn about broader drivers of HIV risk for ACB communities across the country, and what they can do to address them. They also gain insights into the importance of culturally relevant approaches to HIV prevention for ACB communities, including key needs, challenges and opportunities.
