HIV Self-Testing Distribution Project
HIV self-test kits play an important role helping to reach the HIV undiagnosed in Canada. This tool complements our other HIV testing approaches and has the potential to increase the overall uptake of HIV testing in Canada.
In August 2022, the Government of Canada announced new funding to purchase and distribute HIV self-test kits across the country. This funding came to an end on March 31, 2024, although self-test kits continue to be available through some organizations.
How your organization can participate
Organizations that would like to learn more or sign up to distribute HIV self-test kits can contact Reena Anthonyraj at Reena.Anthonyraj@unityhealth.to.
Individuals interested in HIV self-testing can order HIV self-test kits from I’m Ready (Canada-wide) or from GetaKit (Ontario).

HIV Self-Test Promotion Toolkit
CATIE has prepared materials to help organizations get the word out about their HIV self-test kit distribution. This includes social media graphics and messaging, as well as a promotional poster to let your clients know you provide HIV self-test kits.
